The Journey
2006-2007
I was first introduced to web designing when I was 12. A friend of mine showed me her Piczo site and said I should create a website too, so I did. I think my first site was called punk-girl-4ever which had html codes, glitter images and icons on it. You know, a typical beginners website. In the end I was bored of Piczo because I didn't like my site, I changed my site name to emo-angel (I was into the emo fashion lol). I re-vamped my whole site and made it into a resource site. It mostly contained other peoples resources. Finally I renamed my site again to xoxpoppet but in the end I was bored of Piczo, because I didn’t like my site or name, so I had a break for a while.
2007-2008
My first site wasn't very popular, I made a fan site for the TV show Supernatural. It was called supernaturalofficialsite The official supernatural fansite on piczo? I don't know but I was on that site for a long time. Soon Enough I got more visitors compared to my previous website and I really wanted to learn more. I met a girl called Sonja who became one of my favorite affiliates. Her piczo site was awesome! She had her own graphics and I asked her what program she uses. Sonja told me about Paint Shop Pro and how to make graphics.
2008-2009
By the end of '08 I was sick of my fan site, it became more of a job to update it. I moved to my first graphic site indigo--sky.piczo.com It became realy popular and I got better at designing and coding. Everything was going great!
Soon after I made heart-shapedbox. on freewebs, that site lasted about 5 minutes. I couldn't work out how to use freewebs it was so different to piczo. I moved back to piczo indogo--sky and learned how to make coded layouts on my other site retro--layout.webs.com. I eventually closed both sites and moved to vintagevic.piczo.com. I was on piczo for a week and I got a request from Cristina to be hosted on her site.
I bought the domain vintagevic.net and got hosted! I learned all about PHP and it was so easy, having your own domain is great but it does cost. My parents canciled their credit cards and closed down their pay pal account. I had no way or renewing my domain. I do miss having my domain and I still on the copyright of that name which is good, I can get hosted again once I'm eligible for a credit or debit card.
2009-Now
I moved back to freewebs. Webs isn't so bad, it's easier to update this time now I know what I'm doing. I hope this site will become just as popular as vv.net or indigo sky.
The Name
I’ve had a lot of sites in the past and I wanted a site name that I would keep and not change it like I have in the past. I tried to think of something that had more meaning to me, I was inspired by VEJC.piczo.com she used her and her boyfriend’s initials. I thought I would try to use my nickname Vic. But I needed something more than just vic.webs.com. At the time when I made this name I was really into the vintage fashion, then it just clicked, Vintagevic. And it was perfect! I hope you like my site name as much as I do.
